With signs of FU Berks County held aloft and wearing their FU Berks County t-shirts, members of BCCYS Corruption attended the trucker rally today intended to protest government corruption.
Members pulled their cars off to the side of I-95 with groups of other citizens who held encouraging signs as the trucker protest rolled by.
"I'm here to protest the government corruption in Berks County. I knew there was supposed to be a group in Harrisburg, but I figured they would all chicken out. So we decided to come here to Virginia. We knew the protest was ready to roll down here." According to reports from PA state police, the Harrisburg protest was indeed a fizzle.
Pictures of the protest outside of the Washington Beltway were featured on the Washington Post site today, but no protesters with FU Berks signs were featured.
"We know it's a long shot. We may not make the news....but at least we'll get a lot of publicity down here for our cause. We've been talking to a bunch of people and of course, everyone rolling into Washington DC is looking at our sign. We hope that they check out BCCYS corruption on facebook!
Truckers honk and wave and the Berks County protesters shake their signs and wave back. "Somebody noticed us. Somebody did.....that's a good thing."
